SPectroscopies for the Evaluation and ConTrol in Real time of biological cells physiological statE (2011-2013)

In cell culture bioprocess frameworks, the collaborative project SPECTRE studies biological variables for on-line quantification of the physiological state and activity of micro-organisms.

The main goal of SPECTRE is to develop an on-line system which provides real-time measurements of the state of micro-organisms during fermentation and cell culture environments. The outcome will provide improved understanding of cell metabolism and the ability to control cell cultures growth.

The project is based on the coupling of two innovative technologies for on-line measurements and laboratory baseline measurements to confirm on-line information and data treatment.

To achieve this project, Ondalys collaborates with 3 French Bioprocess Engineering academic teams ( IATE – UM2 , LRPG , LISBP) and 3 Mexican ones ( CIATEJ , ITV, IPICYT ).

Nov 2011 - project OPTIPAT

					Kick-off of the project OPTIPAT

The collaborative project OptiPAT "innovative Optical Technology for Process Analytical Technology" was launched in early November 2011 for 3 years.

The objective of OptiPAT is to provide operational responses for process control in the PAT (Process Analytical Technology) using innovative solutions of optical measurements. The applications are mainly focused on the pharmaceutical, food processing and water treatment. For these industries, the use of PAT systems is strategic: the main benefits expected from a real-time monitoring of product quality are the productivity gains and a better understanding of the industrial process of the entire production chain .

To carry out this project, the leader, INDATECH, and the 7 other partners, the CEA-Liten (Grenoble), the laboratory IUSTI (University of Provence - Marseille), the Ecole des Mines d'Alès (ARMINES), the companies ISORG, IMECA Process, Ondalys and Sanofi Aventis, received a co-funding of 1,2 Millions euros from the FUI (Fonds Unique Interministériel), and several regional funding sources.

Ondalys is jointly funded by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund), Oseo and the Region Languedoc-Roussillon.

Ondalys will develop innovative methods of optical data analysis and a software dedicated to the process control.

The collaborative project was co-abeled by the competitive clusters POPSUD and Minalogic.
